Sunday 21st October saw A Cotswold Weddings first furore into Events with #britishbridalbootsale.
The concept is essentially a Preloved wedding fayre with a difference – newlyweds selling on their own wedding paraphernalia alongside wedding suppliers who either specialise in preloved wedding items or who have old stock/seconds/ex hire to pass on.
You see in a world fit to bursting and with a throw a away culture we need to ensure we all do our part and with the average wedding now costing in excess of £20,000 preloved is quite frankly the way forward. If you can save on that designer dress or groomswear, find alternative options for your maids and men whilst sourcing your decor and styling at half the price it is the perfect way to ‘Boss your Budget’ whilst doing right by the environment – it also means you free up additional cash if you so wish, to splash out more on your perfect venue, the photographer of your dreams or that 5 tier wedding cake.
As opening dawned the queue started early at 10.40am and the first through the door were clearly prepared for todays bargains with lots of carrier bags. At the point of opening people were queued out to the road!
Like all boot sales, everyone arrived at once for fear of missing out on the bargains although a steady trickle of couples continued until closing time.
All in all, 100 people through the door, 100 people looking to have a gorgeous AND affordable wedding, 100 people eager for bargains. And bargains were to be had!
A special thanks to those who supported our first #britishbridalbootsale:
Sam (Infinity Dresses Bridalwear)
Marie (Precious times) n
Jess from The Homemade Wedding Company,

Pam from Beaus & Balls Formal Menswear 01452 543213
Hayley and the team from The Tipsy Newt).
Thanks also to our newlywed sellers who passed on their own loved wedding items to be reloved all over again…. even managing to sell on a Pallet Mobile Bar!
Now… to rest my weary legs and plan the next one
Dates for 2019 to be announced shortly, expressions of interest to firstname.lastname@example.org
WOW its only TWO WEEKS to go until our first (and the start of many more!) #britishbridalbootsale!
I am thrilled to announce that we have the fantastic support of SoGlosWeddings and Your Glos & Wilts Wedding Magazine for this event who have generously provided items for the goody bags and magazines for our couples.
Over 150 of you savvy couples have already snapped up tickets (although the event is FREE and tickets aren’t a necessity!)
We have Newylwed couples looking to pass on their own wedding items as well as a few select wedding suppliers who specialize in the preloved, ex hire and seconds wedding items. Over the next week or so I’ll be taking to #instagram stories to introduce these suppliers to you.
AND IF THAT WASN’T ENOUGH…
We have got a fabulous raffle of which all proceeds will be donated to our chosen charity Wish for a Wedding… items include birdcage tea lights, table number sets AND a full wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses up for grabs! Raffle tickets will be on sale during the fayre at £1 per strip.
If your a newlyweds that has wedding items cluttering up your spare room or perhaps you feel you’ve held onto them long enough, why not take a table and pass on your preloved items to be reloved once again
Tables can be booked here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/british-bridal-boot-sale-cheltenham-tickets-49223279153
For decades Brides have coveted the white wedding dress in every design possible. But is this all changing?
Designers are now creating the same beautiful designs in albeit traditional white and ivory but offering today’s discernible bride the option of having perhaps something ‘a little different’ as in dusky pink, pale grey, cappuccino or latte colour ways.

And with floral’s being a big wedding dress trend right now you only need to see the delicate rose patterned gowns overlayed with tulle to understand why – dreamy yet oh so feminine but of course still very much bridal (as seen by Lou Lou Bridal)

It’s refreshing to see at last the bridal dress evolution – we’ve watched weddings evolve from themes, to colour ways, to styles, and whilst dresses have always remained on trend and desirable by their design it’s almost felt like it they were being held back – until the embracement of delicate hues that is.
Just abit in love with these delicate Grey Wedding dresses:

It’s not just the idea that your having something diff to the norm – it’s the option to find something that complements your style and your skin tone, I mean unless you’ve had the obligatory tan bright white is not always a good look.

As with everything try on a few styles and different hues to see what suits you…. i think you may be surprised with the result!
Stay tuned to find out about our forthcoming Style and the Bride event due to take place in the Cheltenham/Gloucester area in early 2019.
